A Case Study in Transforming Research Management
Please note: this session is a PechaKucha and is booked with ‘The Best Case Management System in the World (probably)’ as a block.
In this session, we will explore the steps taken to change the research management service within the University of Glasgow from a group of tasks, which were delivered to our academics and other shareholders in an inconsistent manner, to an excellent service which has clear ownership, accountability and responsibility and is delivered consistently across all Colleges within the organisation. This project has taken over 3 years to bring to fruition and we are currently undergoing a post implementation review (status Jan 2019)
We will present:
- Where we were and the problems we were trying to address, including organisation structure, processes and metrics.
- The overall goal of the project and what we are striving to achieve
- Our progress to date.
- A reflection on what has worked well, problems we have encountered and how they have been overcome and areas to improve
- Our next steps to drive continuous improvement in the process
