Isis Enterprise and Ulster University have conducted a review of the ways in which UK Universities have leveraged technology transfer and innovation in support of REF Impact. This study embraced literature reviews of papers on REF Impact analysis, interviews with lead agents for REF at UK Universities and also technology transfer and commercial managers at UK Universities. This research has implications not only for the relationship between research impact managers and technology transfer professionals, but also challenges the nature and conduct of technology transfer. This session will summarise the findings, present best practice case studies and encourage debate on its implications. The Panel Debate will enable delegates to engage and question the report findings, explore how they might leverage Technology Transfer Offices to yield further Impact Case Studies, and discuss tactics at, and for, their respective institutions.
