Rachael Sara-Kennedy

Rachael manages the International Partnerships programme of work at UUK, leading on the development and implementation of strategic partnership agreements that increase UK sector access to international funding opportunities for research collaboration, mobility or knowledge exchange.

The current portfolio of partnerships encompass management and/or delivery support roles in schemes such as the Rutherford Fund, the Newton Fund, the UK India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI), the Argentinian BEC.AR scholarship scheme and the Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform (SPHEIR) programme. Rachael is also the strategic lead for UUKi’s International Research Development Network (IRDN), a network which brings together research development practitioners and academics from 100+ member institutions.

She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Nottingham in French and Hispanic studies, and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
