I am currently Research Impact Manager at Staffordshire University. I am particularly interested in public engagement as a pathway to impact and was previously Keele University’s first-ever Public Engagement (with Research) Fellow, undertaking research on a range of community-focused projects. I previously completed a PhD in Social Gerontology at Keele, on the topic of Creative Ageing, and co-founded the now annual Live Age Festival: a major community event celebrating later-life creativity. In 2014, as Senior Researcher at Staffordshire University, I led an AHRC-funded Cultural Value project investigating the value of arts and culture in relation to empathy, compassion and understanding.
