Arwen Bate

Arwen Bate has worked in the Research Office for the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) since 2012 and now manages the pre-award service and will oversee the REF 2021 submission.  Her responsibilities include developing and maintaining internal submission policies, procedures, and guidance for research and academic staff as well as working with overseas partners to develop research proposals.  She previously led the service for LSTM’s Research Ethics Committee secretariat for three years.  She has coordinated large international research consortium proposals to funders such as DFID, UK Research Councils, and Horizon 2020. In 2004 she relocated to Liverpool from Boston.
