When is a framework not a framework? Concordats and their influence on the research environment
How many of us know how many concordats our funders and institutions are keeping tabs on? And how many of us actually use these documents to genuinely shape our research environments?
This session will look at:
- the range of concordats that exist to help more fully recognise their importance and influence across the research environment and
- how research managers can, should and are supporting this specific set of UK research ambitions.
The session will allow participants to:
- Develop an understanding of how concordats influence the way research environments are structured;
- Explore how delegates can further enhance their research environments through increased understanding of and engagement with concordats.
Key deliverable: presentation of the different ways the Concordats are all structured (including the relevant lead organisations, signatory representation groups and funding that underpins the ongoing support).
Key aim: to increase the visibility and awareness of the responsibilities and expectations of all partners in all parts of the research landscape, increasing collaboration and shared outcomes ‘back at the office’.
This wider, more strategic awareness will be of particular value to senior research managers and leaders, but would also be relevant to delegates from research funding bodies and policy organisations.
