This interactive workshop will start with a brief introduction of how this table top Open Access Escape Room will work. Then the participants will be divided into groups of around six people. Teams will compete against each other and the clock whilst learning about open access. The workshop will then conclude with a brief summary of how Open Access Escape Rooms have been designed and set up at the Universities of Essex and Kent in order to raise understanding and engagement of Open Access.

Participants will:

  • Learn about the basics of Open Access, including Green, Gold and Plan S
  • Learn about how to use an Escape Room concept in a researcher development context
