Due diligence – who decides? Managing the risks associated with international research partnerships
As international research partnerships are becoming more frequent, and funder compliance is increasing in breadth and complexity, like many other universities, the University of Manchester (UoM) has had to review how risks associated with international research partnerships are identified and managed.
The devolved structure at UoM presented a particular challenge. In a non-centralised organisation, who has the final say on a due diligence review, how do we ensure that our overseas partners are adequately supported, and how do we embed these ways of working in the culture of the organisation?
Using our experiences at UoM of a range of projects, participants will be invited to discuss these challenges, and hear about the solutions we have proposed.
This workshop is intended as an opportunity for interested parties to meet, discuss common challenges, and explore possible solutions together.
