Sarah Jones is the Impact Development and Evaluation Manager for EPSRC funded research within the Research and Innovation Services at the University of Bath.  Prior to this Sarah was the Research Development Manager for humanities and social sciences in Research and Innovation Services (RIS). Her work includes identifying opportunities and developing high-quality research proposals, providing support and skills training for improving grant proposal outcomes, achieving impact and developing impact case studies.  Sarah came to Bath following a career as a researcher and research manager in the discipline area of Criminology and Youth Justice.

Demands on the time of both academics and professional services continues to grow – especially against a backdrop of shorter funder deadlines and institutionally set demands around preparing for REF as examples. We have used both Writing Retreats and Writing Sprints as easily adaptable tools to counter time-related stresses, providing a positive space and structure
