Rachael Matthews joined the Research Operations team at Durham University in 2016. As a Research Grants and Contracts Officer, she is currently responsible for coordinating grant applications and awards for the departments of Earth Sciences and Mathematical Sciences. She supports a wide variety of proposals to both national and international funding bodies, from single-scholar fellowships to complex research facility consortia. Rachael has a PhD in medieval French literature from the University of Durham. Prior to joining the Research Operations team, she worked for the University of Oxford’s widening participation programme in the North East.
