Jo Lakey was awarded the MBA in Higher Education Management by the Institute of Education, University of London in 2010. She has worked in higher education since 2002 and worked at Brunel University as Research Impact Manager between 2009 and 2012, before moving to the Institute of Education where she project managed the REF submission as part of her role as Research Policy Manager. During 2014, Jo was seconded to HEFCE as a panel secretary for the REF assessment phase, supporting the work of three sub-panels in Main Panels C and D. In March 2015 she returned to Brunel University as College Research Manager for the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences.
There is an increasing focus on demonstrating the impact of research, particularly following the Research Excellence Framework 2014.
