Lesley is the Senior Facilitator and Coordinator, Public Engagement with Research at the University of Oxford. Lesley’s role is to support the University to become more strategic and coordinated in public engagement with research. Lesley has worked in public engagement and communications for over 15 years, with particular experience in the development of strategy, evaluation, grant funding, public dialogue, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, communications and working with festivals and the media.

Weaving the rainbow of engaged research

Working with partners from all facets of society, from industry to communities, can enrich both the research itself and the outcomes and impacts that it leads to.  However, on the ground, many universities approach the support for engagement with different audiences/stakeholders/partners in radically different ways – sometimes with very little connection and entirely disparate terminologies.
