Cecilia is the Research Delivery Executive within the Research and Innovation Office at Cranfield University. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the implementation and regularly review the University’s research strategy and related processes and policies, by providing an expert support function to maximise the University’s research performance and develop a dynamic research environment. Previously, she was the project manager of the Bio-Thermal RED (Biological and Thermal Renewable Energy Demonstrator) ERDF funded project, to provide business support to SMEs in the East of England involved in renewable energy. Prior to joining Cranfield she completed her PhD at Dublin City University, Ireland in environmental analytical chemistry; was an Assistant QA Manager at General Soft Drinks (Coca Cola) Co. Ltd; and was also employed as a lab analyst within a number of pharmaceutical and beverage manufacturing companies.
Across the UK, and internationally, Research Offices are increasingly supporting the creation of a vibrant research community. This is particularly true as Universities look to increase and diversify research funding income, within the context of REF and dwindling success rates.
