Andy is the Research Grants Coordinator at Cranfield University for the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing and Cranfield Defence and Security. Andy gained his BSc in forensic science before completing his MSc in Nanotechnology & Microsystems at Teesside University. Andy then joined the Nanotechnology research group at Teesside University and gained his PhD in electrochemical biosensors for point-of-care diagnostics. Following the award of his PhD in 2012 he worked in the medical device industry as an R&D scientist developing point-of-care diagnostics for Swiss Precision Diagnostics, a leader in women’s fertility, and more recently for AgPlus Diagnostics, a spin out company from the National Physical Laboratory.
Across the UK, and internationally, Research Offices are increasingly supporting the creation of a vibrant research community.
