As outlined in the ARMA Professional Development Framework the targeting of funding opportunities and dissemination of information to relevant individuals is a vital part of Research Management and Administration. Identifying Funding Sources, and getting the information out there to relevant stakeholders in time so that the particular deadlines can be met, is a difficult task considering the complexity of demands of public and private research funding organizations. To help ensure that all relevant individuals receive timely and accurate information, the ELFI database offers exhaustive up-to-date information on research funding programmes, target dates, funding organisations and application periods for all branches of scientific research. In the envisioned session, I would like to give an overview of the aims and strategy of ELFI, how we work and the particularities of our interface to outline how ELFI can help ensure the dissemination of information to researchers and thus to create mechanisms for communication of funding information. Furthermore I would like to show how we can help research administrators to monitor funding opportunities according to the institution’s research strategy and broader trends in funding.
Key Learning Points:
- Learn how to look for funding information and personalise your profile in the ELFI database
- Learn how to efficiently navigate the interface and to monitor funding opportunities using the ELFI database
- Learn how to spread the information easily to interested parties, researchers and students
